AHI vs awake_min -0.168 weak negative
OA vs awake_min -0.037 negligible
Leak_Avg vs deep_pct -0.015 negligible
Leak_90 vs deep_pct +0.002 essentially zero

Leak_90 median split (median = 2.40): - Low-leak nights (n=49): mean deep% 14.44, awake 14.47 min - High-leak nights (n=27): mean deep% 13.79, awake 10.98 min

Correlations remain weak overall. The counterintuitive sign (high-leak nights have slightly lower awake time) survives — and tonight exemplifies it: Leak_90 at 8.4 (clearly in the high-leak half) paired with only 8.5 awake minutes and strong deep + REM. The point stands that mild-to-moderate leak elevations have no demonstrable effect on sleep stage architecture in the user's record.

Interpretation

Tonight is a split verdict: CPAP side regressed moderately from last night's exceptional numbers; sleep architecture was unusually strong.

On the CPAP side, essentially everything that was good yesterday reverted toward the recent two-week baseline. Leak_90 jumped from 2.4 to 8.4 (back to the elevated range), Pressure_Avg climbed to 8.50 — a 2.58-SD outlier against the 30-day mean — and the event mix shifted (9 OA, 3 H, 1 CA, 2 RERA, AHI 2.04). This looks like one night, not a trend: a single-night reversion to the pattern that was in place before 2026-10-01's clean break. Nothing to act on, but if tomorrow's leak also returns to the 8–12 range, that's worth paying attention to — it would mean 2026-10-01 was the exception, not the start of a resolution.

The flagged Pressure_Avg (+2.58 SDs) is a bit unusual in isolation. Pressure_90th was only mildly elevated at 10.32 (+0.59 SDs vs 30d), so the machine wasn't hitting a higher ceiling — it was spending more time at the upper end. Combined with the leak increase, the most parsimonious reading is that the auto-titrator was compensating for mild mask leaks for longer stretches tonight.

On the sleep-architecture side, however, this was one of the best nights in the window. REM at 34.36% (123.4 min) is the highest of any recent matched night — 49% above the 30-day mean. Deep at 18.86% (67.7 min) is 40% above the 30-day mean. Awake was only 8.5 min — the lowest since 2026-09-20. Total time in bed was short at 367.8 min (6.13 h), but 97.68% of it was asleep. The CPAP regression evidently did not translate into subjective sleep disruption — if anything, this is textbook restorative architecture.

Pulling back to the week-level view: recent 7d AHI (1.65) is still -23% vs the prior 7d, and recent 7d H is -51%. Tonight's 2.04 doesn't disturb that broader improving trend. Watch tomorrow's leak profile — if it stays elevated, revisit the mask/seal; if it returns to <5, tonight was a one-off.
