High- vs low-leak bucket comparison (split at Leak_Avg median = 0.77 L/min):

Directional: low-leak nights average 1.2 pp more deep sleep. Tonight sat well inside the low-leak bucket (Leak_Avg 0.27, 3rd-lowest of the 10-night window), and deep sleep at 17.64% is +2.2 pp above the low-leak bucket mean — consistent with the pattern.

Interpretation

Tonight is a clean-up night after 09-05's outlier. Deep sleep recovered from 5.35% to 17.64% — above baseline — while events dropped (AHI 1.4, the lowest since 09-02) and leak went to essentially zero. The five-night AHI ≥ 1.82 streak snapped. The signal on 09-05 (very low deep, elevated events, uptick in flow-limit exposure) did not persist into 09-06, which supports reading 09-05 as a one-off rather than the start of a trend. It's worth noting the two possible contributors — measurement noise on Apple Watch deep-sleep detection, or a single fragmented night — but tonight's normalization is the strongest evidence against a sustained problem.

REM is the one soft spot. At 19.40%, REM tonight is the lowest of the last 8 nights and ~4.8 pp below the 30d average. Set against Core at 62.96% (right at typical) and Deep at 17.64% (above baseline), it looks like tonight redistributed sleep architecture toward deep at the expense of REM — the opposite of last night's pattern (very high Core 69.29%, very low Deep 5.35%, above-average REM 25.35%). REM tends to concentrate in the latter half of a sleep window, and tonight's total sleep of 6h 9.8m is on the shorter end of the user's 30d distribution (30d avg 6h 21m), which is a plausible mechanical explanation: shorter window = less REM real estate.

Device physics were relaxed. Pressure_Avg 6.72 and Pressure_90th 9.44 are the lowest of the recent 10-night window. With leak at 0 and event counts low, the AutoSet had less to react to. Flow-limit exposure (14.4 min above FL 0.10, 3.8 min above 0.20) is lower than 09-05's (19.8 / 7.4) though not negligible — mid-range for the recent window. RERAs at 3 (RDI 1.86) is slightly elevated but consistent with the modest flow-limit picture; airway wasn't perfectly quiet, but the device didn't need to escalate pressure to manage it.

Week-over-week has flattened. The leak drift called out on the 09-05 report has reversed — recent 7d Leak_Avg 0.77 vs prior 7d 0.80 (essentially flat), and Leak_90th 2.23 vs 2.40 (down 7%). Pressure is drifting up mildly (Pressure_Avg 7.50 vs 7.24, +3.7%), but this is a small movement over one week and is consistent with the device responding to elevated event/flow-limit counts earlier in the window. AHI week-over-week is flat (2.12 vs 2.10).

Watch items rolling forward: - REM percentage. If tomorrow also comes in <20%, that's a two-night pattern to note. Anything ≥22% and it's a one-off. - CA count. Tonight had 1 CA, and 3 of the last 7 nights had ≥1 CA — worth tracking as a mild pattern but not yet notable in absolute terms. - Pressure_Avg drift week-over-week (+3.7%). Small, but the direction has been up for two consecutive weeks — check next week.

Subjectively: With sleep efficiency at 97.4%, awake time at 10 min, deep sleep back near normal, and events low, this should have been a more restorative night than 09-05. The shortish total sleep (6h 10m) is the main mechanical caveat.
