High- vs low-leak bucket comparison (split at Leak_Avg median = 0.77 L/min):

Directional: low-leak nights average 0.6 pp more deep sleep. The "leak drags deep sleep down" signal is consistent but weak. Tonight sat firmly in the low-leak bucket (Leak_Avg 0.31) yet deep sleep was 14.7% — right at the high-leak mean — because tonight's story is obstructive events, not mask fit.

Interpretation

Two things swapped tonight. The leak flag from 09-03 (Leak_Avg 1.98, Leak_90th 7.2) closed decisively — tonight came in at Leak_Avg 0.31 with Leak_90th at 0.0, well below the user's 30d baseline. Whatever the cause (position, cushion shift, brief unseal), it did not persist. But as the leak resolved, obstructive events surged: AHI 3.37 — the highest of the last 10 nights and above the personal mean+1sd threshold of 3.23 — driven by 16 OA (30d avg 9.03) plus 5 hypopneas. Zero centrals. The event mix is purely obstructive, and it's the biggest obstructive-event count of the recent window.

Pressure_Avg 7.37 was actually 3% below the 7-day trailing (7.59) and 2% below the 30-day (7.53), and Pressure_90th 10.22 was flat. So the device wasn't ramping into these events aggressively — it may be that the events came in a short cluster the pressure ride-through didn't fully catch, or that sleep position drove obstructive resistance the algorithm handled with modest pressure adjustments. Flow-limit exposure was moderate (11.4 min above FL 0.10, 2.4 min above 0.20) — lower than 09-03's 17.1 / 2.9 min despite the higher AHI, so upstream airway restriction isn't the whole story.

Sleep architecture was mixed: efficiency 98.2% (excellent) and awake only 6.5 min — the lowest of the week — so subjectively this probably felt like a solid night. Deep sleep 14.7% is +1.1 pp above 30d but -1.2 pp below the recent 7d average. REM 22.4% is -1.8 pp vs 30d and -1.8 pp vs 7d. Total sleep 6h 3m is ~20 min shorter than the trailing average, mostly because CPAP usage was down to 6.23 hours (lowest of the recent 10-night window).

The week-over-week picture keeps pointing up on obstructive events: recent 7d AHI 2.17 vs prior 7d 1.81 (+20%), OA 11.00 vs 8.57 (+28%), H 2.86 vs 2.14 (+33%). Tonight is now the second night in the recent window at or above the AHI mean+1sd threshold (08-29 at 3.07 was near it; 08-27 at 3.17 was over). Not a streak yet, but the trend is clear.

Watch items rolling forward: - Any AHI ≥ 3.23 for 3 consecutive nights (currently 1: tonight). - Continued 7d obstructive-event upward drift into next week (this is now week 2 of increases). - Confirm 09-03's leak spike stays a one-off; another Leak_Avg ≥ 1.93 night would suggest a mask/cushion issue.

Subjectively: Should have felt fine — 98.2% efficiency, 6.5 min awake, deep sleep held above baseline. The obstructive spike happened without waking the user up, which is a testament to the CPAP holding the airway open enough to prevent arousal even when events counted.
