Leak vs. sleep architecture — 46 matched nights (all available history through 08-06)

Split at leak ≤ 0.30 vs > 0.30 L/min (08-06's leak of 0.56 falls just into the higher-leak bucket, though it's far closer to the low-leak norm than a real spike):

the user r (leak avg vs. deep %): −0.25 (n=46). the user r (leak avg vs. awake min): −0.00. the user r (AHI vs. awake min): +0.04. the user r (AHI vs. deep %): +0.04.

Interpretation: Tonight technically falls in the higher-leak bucket by the 0.30 cutoff, but at 0.56 L/min it's barely over the line and well below that bucket's mean leak level. Consistent with that, tonight's deep% (15.9%) sits above both bucket means — closer to the low-leak bucket's 18.0% than the high-leak bucket's 14.9%. As in prior reports, the leak↔deep% relationship is a weak negative one (r = −0.25) and leak/AHI have essentially no linear relationship with awake time across the full dataset (r ≈ 0.04 for AHI vs. both). Tonight's elevated AHI did not coincide with elevated awake time or leak — the disruption, if any, isn't showing up as fragmented sleep.

3. Comparison to Trailing Averages

Metric Tonight (08-06) 7-day avg (07-31–08-06) 30-day avg (through 08-06)
AHI 2.83 1.84 2.05
Leak avg (L/min) 0.56 0.82 0.66
Pressure avg (cmH₂O) 7.60 7.26 7.81
Usage hours 6.00 7.04 6.74
Deep sleep % 15.9% 12.3% 15.4%
REM sleep % 19.4% 22.7% 24.4%
Awake time (min) 9.5 23.1 17.9

AHI is the clear outlier tonight — above both trailing averages while awake time, leak, and deep sleep are all favorable or unremarkable. REM is modestly below both averages, worth a passing note but not a pattern yet (single night).

Weekly AHI/Leak trend

Week AHI avg Leak avg n
06-17 to 06-23 1.32 0.36 4
06-24 to 06-30 3.74 1.99 7
07-01 to 07-07 2.92 1.27 6
07-08 to 07-14 2.78 0.52 7
07-15 to 07-21 1.66 0.45 6
07-22 to 07-28 1.68 0.87 7
07-29 to 08-04 1.74 0.70 7
08-05 to 08-11 (partial, 2 of 7) 2.16 1.23 2

Still too early to read a firm trend into the new week (n=2), but both AHI and leak are running above the prior week's averages so far. Worth confirming whether this holds or fades as more of the week's nights come in.

4. Outlook

Both flags carried over from the 08-05 report resolved cleanly tonight — the leak spike was a one-off (0.56 vs. 1.90 L/min), and deep sleep snapped back to baseline (15.9%, right at the 46-night average) after six of the prior seven nights ran below it. In their place, AHI is tonight's story: 2.83 is the 13th-highest of 46 nights and above both trailing averages, continuing a choppier AHI pattern over the last week (2 of the last 3 nights in the top third) rather than a single clean streak. It hasn't yet produced 3+ consecutive elevated nights or shown up as worse sleep architecture (awake time and deep sleep were both good tonight), so nothing here is clinically alarming on its own — but the partial-week AHI/leak uptick (n=2) is worth confirming over the next few nights.
